Preview your New Look
Using our advanced iTero 3D scanner and virtual 3D treatment planning (ClinCheck), we will be able to show you the series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of your treatment. This allows you to see what your teeth will look like at the end of your Invisalign treatment plan, right from the start, even before your aligners are made.
How Invisalign works
You’ll be given a series of clear aligners, made from hard-wearing plastic, that are designed to fit your teeth. You’ll wear each aligner for around two weeks before replacing it with the next in the series.
With each aligner your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – and we’ll monitor your progress every six weeks or so and make any adjustments you may need.
The treatment time will vary depending on the complexity of your case. An average treatment time is between 12 and 18 months.
Choose your Treatment with Confidence
As with all the orthodontic treatments available at the practice we offer a free, no obligation consultation with a treatment advisor so you can discuss what you want to achieve from your teeth straightening treatment. We can help you decide whether Invisalign is the most suitable option and advise on the likely treatment costs as well as the likely time frame.
Invisalign FAQs
Will the aligners hurt?
A. Undergoing any orthodontic treatment will cause temporary, minor discomfort with a new aligner, but this will soon ease after a day or so. This is normal and is typically described as a feeling of pressure. It’s a sign that the aligners are doing their job.
How often should I wear the aligners?
A. As the aligners only work while you are wearing them, we recommend they are kept in place for at least 22 hours per day, removing only for eating and cleaning.
How do I clean my aligners?
A. We recommend brushing aligners the same way and times as you brush your teeth. Also brush the aligners after eating in lukewarm water as this will help to keep them fresher for longer. Many patients find an inexpensive denture cleaner also works well.
What if I lose my clear aligner?
A. We always recommend that the previous brace is kept so if you are only a few days into your new aligner you can place the previous one in and book an appointment with Casa Dental for a review. If you are a week into the new aligner, move onto the next brace in the series.
If you lose any attachments, simply inform us, and we will replace it during your next appointment.
Are there restrictions on what I can eat or drink?
A. Unlike traditional braces with wires and brackets, you can eat and drink what you like with Invisalign, because you remove the aligners to eat and drink. We just recommend avoiding drinks that tend to stain your teeth, such as red wine and coffee.
What happens when my Invisalign treatment ends?
A. As with all teeth straightening methods, you will need to wear a retainer following treatment to prevent your teeth moving back to their original position.
